This weekend we journeyed all the way up to Liverpool to collaborate with the incredible Mercy for the Liverpool Biennial Festival. The event was a strange one, trying to pack everything Clinic events are about into a one hour live show all happening at once, and to be honest I have never been more proud of anything in my whole life, I had such an incredible time, all due to the wonderful partners and help we had with it.
First off Clinic favourites Dead Red Sun brought their instrumental math/post-rock stylings with us, playing a totally improvised set, over which we read some brand new poetry written for the event. The theme for the event was Colour with each section of music themed on a colour and each poet responding to a primary colour.
Hanging in front of this noisy exposition of poetry and rock we hung sheets of acrylic and had Charlie and Sam from the simply incredible Comic Assault, plus special guests Kyle, Ross and Matt, providing live illustration, slowly obscuring everything in a wash of colour and amazingness.
I realise this all sounds like a lot to imagine, so here are some snaps I've stolen from the Comic Assault blog, see the full set here; some of our own photos are sure to follow asap.
I don't want to get too gushy here, but this could never have been so much fun or come to any sort of fruition without all the help we had along the way, a massive thank you to everyone involved and the amazing friends we made. Here's to doing it again soon.
