Monday the 20th of September sees the first of three showcase events as part of the In Process / In Performance season at The Brighton Dome. This evening of associate artists and companies from The Point in Eastleigh and the Corn Exchange in Newbury promises to be really great, featuring the above mentioned Shadyjane performing some new work in their solo guises.

First seen at The Place as part of 2010′s Resolution! season, All for a few (pictured) has been reworked by the all male cast. With its sharp dynamic wit and physical explosions of energy, this piece is set to Chay Burrows’ thundering original score.

You Need Me - Certain Dark Things
Certain Dark Things is an intense family drama set in 1950s Spain under Franco’s dictatorship, featuring the company’s trademark ‘in the round’ performance, colourful storytelling and beautiful live music. The drama follows the coming of age of a young Basque man as he wrestles with his own sexual awakening and his relationship with a matriarchal mother and domineering father, all against the backdrop of a Spanish life dominated at the time by politics and religion.

Marie is a solo show about a daughter (Chloé) and a mother (Marie), investigating what it means to have the same blood – and feet. Alongside a series of video-clips of her childhood family kitchen, Chloé shares extracts from a correspondence made out of drawings, TV ads, texts and emails that she and her mother began exchanging following the creation of Marie. How do you start talking about family history? How can you try and give space to two voices on stage, a daughter’s and a mother’s engaging in a conversation, re-exploring the past and trying to make sense out of familial events and relationships?
