"London's Sickest Poetry Nights"

birrth poster

Evening all,Just dropping in to remind you that we are back from our summer holidays with a clout. Clinic Presents: Birth will be taking place nextThursday, 7th October at our spiritual home, the Amersham Arms, New Cross. We are bringing the optimum dosage of music, poetry and art, with some very exciting performances indeed.

Headlining the live bands will be the fantastic EVRYONEAfter supporting Sky Larkin back in May at the launch of our almost-sold-outAnthologywe have invited the trio back to unleash their own brand of warp-pop that is making everyone talk. Supporting them is the awesome one-woman-band FOE   and the very promising PUSHING HANDS

Moving on, and we are ecstatic to announce that multi-talented
Luke Wright will be headlining the live poetry reading. Named by The Observer as “The best young performance poet around”, Wright has been very busy of late, what with co-curating the entire Poetry Arena at Latitude Festival and all. Alongside this champ is a plethora of emerging and established talent; we are joined by Ross Sutherland,James Brookes, Jon Stone, Kirsten Irving and of course the Clinic poets.

Upstairs in the Take Courage Gallery we will be curating an exhibition using Birth as the starting point. Comic Assault & Friends, fresh off the coach from our awesome event in Liverpool last weekend, will be drawing all over the walls, most probably offending your family members, and we will also be hanging brand new work by Harriet BridgwaterThom Bird and fan's favourite Ventral Is Golden

The event kicks off at 7pm sharp and runs till 1am, and it might be worth getting down early for the private view of the gallery and to take part in our Zine Workshop in which you can cut/stick/draw until your arms fall off. Entry is £3 with a flyer / £4 without, and you'll be able to take advantage of some great drinks deals at the bar, all the more reason to take a break from the sensory overload.

Hope to see you all down there,
clinic.
