I wrote a poem about the importance of names and the relationship of names to people. I find that when someone speaks to you about someone you are really close to the name of that person can become meaningless. The same as if you repeat the same word over and over again; it loses meaning. Also, I don't really have a title for this poem. I like titles so I'll think of one soon enough.
Because its sounds foreign,
especially on their tongues.
Because they sound like
saying absolutamente
or parfait.
Without the click
Of a C, a hard T, you
and I
are nothing but aliens.
They docked my pay,
because the only words
I ever said to understand,
you must understand,
was your long, close(d) name.
