Harmony Korine

Is an absolute genius. Writer of Larry Clark's Kids when he was just 18, he has only gone on to do bigger and stranger things, the ineffable Gummo and his addition to the Dogme 95 manifesto Julien Donkey Boy.

He then disappeared for years, became homeless, and a heroin addict, before suddenly remerging in 2007 with Mister Lonely. As with all Korine films it is notoriously difficult to find (I had to watch Gummo on a VHS copy, as the DVD is banned from this country), but now, finally, I've managed to get hold of it. I'm pretty excited, and it's definitely going to serve as good procrastination material from all this tiresome work (apologies for being so quiet lately).

Here's the trailer:

It looks pretty different from his other stuff, but then that's very often the mark of a great director. If you've not seen any of his work I can't recommend it enough, I genuinely felt the need to shower after Gummo...
